Quilt for Young Son!

Yep...its been awhile..I know. I haven't had much going on, and I try not to post on the weekends. Those are my days off except for stitching. I've come up with a project. I've been wanting to stitch some sports squares to make my son a quilt. So, what I'll do is about bi-monthly or so...I'll post a new square to stitch. Kind of like a mystery sampler. I myself won't actually start this project until a few months after Christmas. I've got projects to finish for Christmas and one more big project that I'm getting paid to stitch. Hopefully, I'll make it for his birthday next September. Maybe someone could start these and e-mail me so I can post the model. Just a thought. After this one is finished, maybe I'll do one for a girl. So, I've drawn out a template for a twin size quilt. I've written the dimensions...just click and print. Granted...I'm not a sewer..so I would recommend that you talk with someone that is an expert (or even a novice) quilter. My mom sews but she doesn't really do quilts. I'm sure she still knows about cutting and seams and such. So, please don't blame me if you cut the fabric according to the template...you're supposed to leave a seam allowance. The template is only for the face front. I will tell you what materials you need. You may want to ask your sewer on this too!

Materials:

-20 14"x14" cut cross stitched squares (about 10"x10" inches stitched)
-About 3-4 yards for border and sashing
-backing 72"x88"
-batting 72"x88"
-quite a bit of fabric for binding
