My Promise!

I have just left a comment on Rachael's blog . Anyone wanna join in? As I told Rachael...I've never had a chance to participate in any exchanges or RRs...this could be a start for me. I really like the idea.

The guidelines:
"I will send a handmade gift to the first 3 people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange. I don’t know what that gift will be yet and you may not receive it tomorrow or next week, but you will receive it within 365 days, that is my promise! The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog."Want to participate? Be one of the first 3 people to leave a comment on this post and make the same promise on your own blog. I'll send a message to the first three comment posters, to get mailing addresses ;)

Yippee, another finish!!!!

Finally finished this one today. It took me about two weeks! No, not 336 hours...on average, I worked on it for 1-2 hours a day. This will be a gift for my supervisor. It has a pretty mat to go with it and when I get it completed, I will post a picture.

Sign my Guestbook!

To All, If you visit my page and you like it...sign my guestbook...please. I need some friends that share the same likenesses. Cross stitching rocks!

I'd like to thank Rachael for being the first to sign my guestbook. One problem though...I had problems with that guestbook. I had to get another one. Sorry Rachael!!! Can you sign this one instead?!

In the Holiday Spirit

I bought this underwear cover about two years ago when my son was just born. I remembered that I had them, tried them on him...and it still fit him. He was excited and wanted to pose for pictures. Isn't he cute!

Quilt for Young Son!

Yep...its been awhile..I know. I haven't had much going on, and I try not to post on the weekends. Those are my days off except for stitching. I've come up with a project. I've been wanting to stitch some sports squares to make my son a quilt. So, what I'll do is about bi-monthly or so...I'll post a new square to stitch. Kind of like a mystery sampler. I myself won't actually start this project until a few months after Christmas. I've got projects to finish for Christmas and one more big project that I'm getting paid to stitch. Hopefully, I'll make it for his birthday next September. Maybe someone could start these and e-mail me so I can post the model. Just a thought. After this one is finished, maybe I'll do one for a girl. So, I've drawn out a template for a twin size quilt. I've written the dimensions...just click and print. Granted...I'm not a sewer..so I would recommend that you talk with someone that is an expert (or even a novice) quilter. My mom sews but she doesn't really do quilts. I'm sure she still knows about cutting and seams and such. So, please don't blame me if you cut the fabric according to the template...you're supposed to leave a seam allowance. The template is only for the face front. I will tell you what materials you need. You may want to ask your sewer on this too!

Materials:

-20 14"x14" cut cross stitched squares (about 10"x10" inches stitched)
-About 3-4 yards for border and sashing
-backing 72"x88"
-batting 72"x88"
-quite a bit of fabric for binding

Cross Stitch Freebie from Me to You!

I have finally pushed myself to design something. I had been trying desperately to find a freebie just like this. I needed a welcome sign but the only ones I could find were very country. So, I designed one. I hope you like it. Please visit frequently. I might just have to design a few more.

Another Finish!

Yesterday, I finished a palm tree kit that I was stitching as a Christmas present for my mom also. It came with the frame and all. All I have to do is find the motivation to actually finish it. I'm great at finishing cross stitches, but I don't like framing them, sewing them...blah blah. I just don't like to do the finishings.

I was also searching for blogs and I found this site on a blog that I read. I had seen it before, but I had forgotten about it. It has cute free charts and some very nice stuff to purchase. Take a look!

Finished Project..Or is it?

Last night I finished my mom's purse. I finished it, but to me it looks ...blah! What do you think? Can you give any suggestions as to what you think I should do to dress it up? Or should I just leave it as is?

Here's something that I starting stitching yesterday and finished last night. It will turn out to be a Christmas present for my mom. I will put this on one side of a purse and on the other side....Maxine. My mom loves Maxine. border=0>

Promise to Keep Up With Blog!

I'm making a promise to myself to keep this blog updated at least once a week. Why not...no excuses! Well, I'm back from a long well-rested 4 day weekend. Hope everyone had a great Turkey Day. I know I did....ate a lot. I just got a new digital camera for an early Christmas present...YAY... I can finally take pictures and upload them as fast as I take them. I love my camera. Its a nice Kodak Easyshare. I took like 10 pictures of my son the first day I got it. When did I get it you say? BLACK FRIDAY! Yeah, I'm one of those crazy people that get up at 4 in the morning just to save maybe a few dollars. I bought quite a bit. But you know....I think my husband and I bought mostly stuff for ourselves. Let's see we bought a digital camera (my husband and I), a slow cooker (my husband), two jewelry armoires (one for me and one for my mom), a dvd player (for my son), some movies (for my son), 3 furreal pets (3 different little girls-nieces), 5 shirts (for me), a pair of pants (for me), a dvd learning video game for my 2-year old son...and I can't remember much else. What do you think? Most of the shopping was for me. :-? That just means I still have some Christmas shopping to finish. Argghhh!

Here's one of the cute pictures that I took of my son.

This was taken on the day after Thanksgiving. It snowed here on Thanksgiving Day, but you can't tell, because it didn't snow much and when it does snow, it melts just as fast as it came :-(
